Bus Shelter Advertising
With bus shelters at many of our popular campus stops, your shelter ad is surely to get the attention that you are looking for! At 60.5 inches x 45.625 inches, your ad will be large and sure to be seen day in and day out by those waiting for the bus and those just walking by. Some of our popular locations include College Hill (East or West), Upper and Lower Minges, Speight, Rivers, West End, and Curry Court.
Advertising Rates
Bus shelter advertising rates are based on one side of a single shelter advertising frame.
All design and printing must be coordinated directly with our approved vendor, Sign Smith. These services are billed separately by Sign Smith and are not included in the cost of the ad space
Advertising Contracts follow a display cycle that begins and ends on Sundays and are sold in semester terms. Exceptions to this cycle may be made only for public service announcements related to campus or public safety and are subject to availability
If you wish to update your poster during your contracted term, you will be responsible for any additional printing and labor fees charged by the vendor
Longer-term contracts are available upon request. Please contact our office directly for extended pricing and availability.

Our seven bus shelters are located across campus at some of our busiest stops. Each shelter has space for up to two advertisements. A location map can be provided upon request.

Proof Specifications
Before, or at the time of purchase of shelter advertisement a proof must be sent to TransitAdvertising@ecu.edu for content approval.
If you are creating the advertisement proof or working with a vendor other than Sign Smith, proofs should be created to fit the shelter space, 60.5 inches tall and 45.625 inches wide (no bleeds). The proof will need to be either a PDF or .eps file (at least 300 dpi) and must be sent to us in time to account for a 1–2-week turnover between proof approval to poster display. Submission date of all proofs is critical for printing and display turnover and if late, may result in a loss of advertising time.
Departments and organizations affiliated with ECU are encouraged to hire the professional graphic artists of University Printing and Graphics for their design and print needs.
You will be responsible for coordinating directly with our approved vendor, Sign Smith, for printing and installation. These services are billed separately by Sign Smith and all payments for ECU Transit and Sign Smith must be finalized before installation occurs.
Shelter Space Availability
All advertising space is reserved on a space-available basis. Advertising space on ECU Transit bus shelters is reserved only when payment arrangements are finalized. ECU Transit cannot guarantee placement of advertising on any particular shelter for any particular purpose. Due to the limited amount of space, contracts will be upon availability only, and long term advertisements will be grated priority.
ECU Transit reserves the right to modify its service schedule at any time for weather, holidays, university closures or special events. Due to the nature of bus shelters, any prolonged shelter closures or construction conflicting with advertising uptime may be issued a credit or granted an extended contract for time lost at the discretion of ECU Transit Management.
Should any vandalism of the shelters occur, ECU Transit will cover the costs associated.
