About Pirate Access
Pirate Access is a curb-to-curb, shared-ride subscription-based transportation service that is ADA-compliant and designed to support students, faculty, and staff who are unable to use ECU Transit’s fixed bus routes due to a temporary or permanent disability. We assist riders with transportation to and from campus parking locations, select apartment complexes serviced by ECU Transit, and ECU facilities
Riders with disabilities are not required to use Pirate Access. ECU Transit buses and vans are also equipped to transport riders with wheelchairs or other mobility devices for all of our other services. You can learn more by visiting our vehicle features and accessibility pages or request an orientation session to get more familiar with our services and vehicles before you ride.
This service operates cooperatively with Disability Support Services and the Dean of Students Office, and requires certification by a healthcare provider before you can begin using it.
Service Hours
Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

ECU Ride trip requests must be made at the time of travel and are fulfilled based on availability. The service hours of ECU Ride may vary during breaks and holidays.
